So you’re lucky enough to live in a country that was actually sold the Nissan S15 Silvia…what’s your next step? Well if you’re part of the team at the United Kingdom’s Driftworks it’s clearly to tare that Spec-R down to the frame and start a full on Toyota 2JZGTE engine swap and race build.

The engine is a Toyota Supra 2JZGTE. There’s been a lot of questions as to why Driftworks chose the Toyota engine over a Nissan RB and their simple answer is reliability. Having had some issues with previous RB projects they just fealt the 3.0-liter Toyota engine offered more reliability without having to go for a fully built race engine. Capacity counts for a hell of a lot in reliability, so starting with 3.0 was a good base.

Alex Clare is a name that you probably aren’t familiar with, but odds are you’ve heard his song “Too Close” in Internet Explorer’s most recent commercial. When I heard the British singer’s soulful/folky voice mixed with booming bass wobbles, I was intrigued. After listening to his full album, I’m impressed. It’s “Throwback Friday” around here and in honor of the day we’ve decided to highlight a vintage TVR racer doing exactly what it did best; racing.

Featuring a 1600CC MGA engine the Series II Grantura was capable of 0-60 mph in 12 seconds with a top speed of 98.4mph...not impressive by modern standards though what is impressive is that the car was able to achieve this while averaging an impressive 27.3mpg fuel economy. Thursday’s child has far to go…prophetic given the solid underpinnings the T350 established for the later Sagaris.

Imogen Thomas is a Welsh glamour model, beauty queen and UK television personality. Having first risen national fame in 2003, after winning the Miss Wales beauty pageant Imogen was able to further solidify her celebrity status in 2006 with a succesfull and polarizing three month run on the hugely popular UK reality television series; Big Brother.

Thomas started working as a model at age 13, and at the age of 17 moved to London to become a professional model. Working in bars to pay for her living costs, she was rejected by many modelling agencies due to her height. (Click to Enlarge - 1920x1200)
