Posted by Robert.Maddrey On October - 24 - 2012

The SRT® Motorsports team found out why the Petit Le Mans is one of the most feared endurance events in North America road racing, but the new team of SRT Viper GTS-Rs had more than its share of success on its way to finishing 8th and 13th in the American Le Mans Series GT class.

Once the #91 was at the front of the pack, Farnbacher paced 17 trips around the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta course, building a lead of more than six seconds before handing the reins to Hunter-Reay.

Level 5 Motorsports captured the overall victory in an always intriguing, at times bizarre American Le Mans Series’ Grand Prix of Baltimore presented by SRT. Christophe Bouchut and team principal Scott Tucker led the team’s 1-2 finish with its pair of HPD ARX-03bs, ahead of Luis Diaz and Ricardo Gonzalez in the sister car.

Corvette Racing encountered heavy holiday traffic on the streets of Baltimore today, finishing second and sixth in the Baltimore Sports Car Challenge. Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner labored long and hard on the Labor Day weekend to bring the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R across the finish line second, 2.2 seconds behind the winning No. 17 Porsche of Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler. That result increased their lead in the GT driver championship as their closest rivals finished down the order.
