New US Trailer for Ron Howard’s Formula 1 Racing Movie Rush Starring Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Wilde and Daniel Bruhl

Last week we saw the first international trailer for Ron Howard’s upcoming formula one racing biopic,RUSH, and now we have a finely chopped domestic trailer to accompany it. Whereas the international trailer had a more “action-y” feel to it, this new one capitalizes on the dramatic elements mixed with some rubber-burning tension.

Alonso Takes the Lead On Day Three At the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona

Local Spanish fan-favorite Fernando Alonso in his new Ferrari’s F138 set his best time on a short run in the morning session with soft-compound tires, time which would ultimately be good enough to take the day.

Spaniard Alonso squeezed every possible ounce of speed out of last year’s car, the F2012, but ultimately he was thwarted by the limitations of his machinery and finished the championship three points behind Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel.

2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix – Grid Girls

Sebastian Vettel Wins 3rd Straight Title at Brazilian GP

Sebastian Vettel captured his third straight Formula One championship title Sunday, overcoming a first-lap crash to finish sixth in a Brazilian Grand Prix won by Jenson Button under pouring rain.

By the time he reached his twenties, Sebastian Vettel had already been racing for 12 years. After kick starting his career in 1995 at a local kart track in his native Germany, it wasn’t long before Vettel had notched up several regional championships. Soon tiring of the local competition, however, he began to race on a European level.

The #3 McLaren Mercedes Car Takes 5th

The race gods were smiling on the MCLAREN MERCEDES team last Sunday, with drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton taking 5th and 1st places respectively.

Earlier Button, who started from 12th position, refused to yield when Michael Schumacher’s Mercedes squeezed him into Turn 1 on lap 10, the Englishman competing a clean overtake to launch a fine drive through the field that ended with fifth position behind Massa.

The #9 Lotus F1 Car Driven by Kimi Raikkonen Takes 6th

It’s no secret that we’re all huge Kimi fans here at Down Shift, so it goes without saying that one of the clear highlights of the USGP was a chance to see Kimi and the Lotus team live and in race-action on US soil for a change.

While Raikonnen and Grosjean may have come in 6th and 7th overall it was none the less a complete blast seeing Team Lotus hard at work on the amazing Circuit of the Americas track we’ve so adamantly watched be constructed over the course of the last two years. Thanks #USGP

What an amazing weekend in Austin, Texas for the inaugural Circuit of the Americas USGP. Attendance was off the charts, carrying more than 66,000 attendees for just one of the earlier practices… So where to start this week off as we look back, recap and hopefully share some amazing photos, videos and experiences from this amazing race weekend? Why with the USGP race girls of course.

The USGP Race Girls take a moment to blow the media and attendees a kiss at the busy 2012 Formula 1 USGP held at Austin, Texas’s recently completed and state of the art Circuit of the Americas race facility.

2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix – The Recap

AUSTIN, Texas (Nov. 18, 2012) – Lewis Hamilton has won back-to-back races in the United States – but they came five years apart after the Englishman took victory for McLaren Mercedes in the inaugural United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas™.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton won his second consecutive United States Grand Prix on Sunday after holding off Red Bull driver and current points leader Sebastian Vettel in the closing laps at the brand new Circuit of the Americas.
