Based in Mesa, Arizona, RSR Motorsports has been a strong presence in the ST class of the Continental Tire Challenge since the team’s first entry into the series during 2007.

The  Continental Tire Challenge Series features “street-stock” racing machines very much like the cars bought off the showroom floor. The ST class grid is comprised of Acura TSX and RSXs, BMW’s, Mazda MX5′s. RX8s, Hondas Civics and the titular MINI Cooper S.     |   Click to Enlarge  - 1920×1200

RSR made their Grand-Am debut in 2007, and after their rookie season they were ready for a breakout performance in 2008. The ST class featured three RSR Minis, and they proved to be mighty: RSR broke the single-lap track record at Lime Rock Park, Mosport International Raceway, Mid-Ohio and Miller Motorsports Park. An RSR Mini sat on the ST pole at both Mid-Ohio and Miller, as well.

The 2009 season held further success. After snagging the pole at Trois-Rivieres, RSR led most of the race before a seat mount broke. The unlikely problem aside, it proved that RSR was continuing to develop as a Grand-Am team, and they could not only run with, but lead the best entries in the class. Another pole—this time at Virginia International Raceway—and the fastest race lap at Miller added to the accolades. RSR drivers Trevor Hopwood and Adam Burrows ended the season with a top-ten spot in the championship.

Always striving for more, RSR Motorsports started the 2010 season by setting the fastest race lap at Daytona International Speedway. Roundel magazine took note, saying that the Minis “defied the laws of physics.” Ask anyone with RSR Motorsports, though, and they’ll tell you their success is due to teamwork, dedication, and the never-ending desire to go faster.
