There never would have been an RX-7 if there wasn’t first the RX-3…

Beleive it or not this refitted and tube framed Mazda RX-3 GT3 makes 280hp...to the wheels! (1920x1200)

Running a 12A Bridgeported Rotary powering through a Mazda Comp 4speed gearbox, our RX3 makes approximately 280 horsepower. Tube framed front and rear and riding on fully adjustable Koni 8212 shocks and Panasport 13×7 Ultralite wheels, her short wheel base and agile handling has provided her the ability to win races. Starting her racing life at Westwood Raceway in Coquitlam, B.C., she competed in and won numerous sprint races, she also won first overall in 1998 at the 8 hours of the Cascades enduro race in Portland, Oregon. She continues to be dominant in the SPU and GT3 classes, against cars almost 40 years younger. One of only a few remaining RX3s racing, this car always draws attention, on and off the track. In January of 2009 the Retro Racing Team completed a comprehensive refit of this RX3 as well as body work and restoration.
