Near Orlando International Airport Gas is $5.39 p/gallon

Most people in Central Florida know that gas stations near the airport in Orlando have ridiculous prices, but on Tuesday Good Morning America singled out one gas station for having the highest gas prices in the nation. SunCoast Energy is the most expensive gas station in the United States, charging $5.39 per gallon. ABC’s Matt Gutman went to the store on Semoran Boulevard and said it cost $70 for 13 gallons of gas. Gutman reports that it targets tourists who are in a rush to return rental cars.

Prices are similar at the gas station across the street. One woman couldn’t believe it.

“This is robbery,” she said.

The gas stations have been battling the City of Orlando which passed an ordinance last year forcing stores to post their prices on road side signs to let drivers know how expensive the gas is before they start pumping.
