When visiting San Antonio not too long ago we were afforded a trip to the Mercado by a friend of the family; an intriguing shopping experience that’s as close to shopping south of the border as a gringo can get without actually crossing the border. The culinary jewel of this shopping experience was a visit to the famous Mi Tierra Cafe & Bakery…a eatery that has hosted presidents, celebrities and everyday folk for decades.
